Desolazione, puzza di bruciato, cenere, morte. Dopo gli incendi che hanno devastato le colline sopra Genova ecco come si presenta il Monte Fasce.
Breve ma intensa performance dell’artista ballerina tedesca Maren Strack presso il cortile di Palazzo Tursi, Genova. Il ritmo crescente del flamenco si ripercuote sulla pietra che viene polverizzata e frantumata.
Appena entrati nelle sale dei Magazzini del Cotone (Expo di Genova), dove si teneva la 4a edizione della Tattoo Convention era possibile sentire un ronzio di sottofondo, continuo; erano le macchine per tatuare degli ottanta tattoo artists indaffarati a fissare indelebilmente sulla pelle la loro arte.
I più sembravano resistere stoicamente con aria quasi serena, qualcun altro lasciava intuire dall’espressione l’inevitabile dolore.
Questi sono i veri irriducibili del tatuaggio, volenterosi di usare la propria pelle, il proprio corpo, come tela a disposizione di questi maestri del tatuaggio. Atmosfera di trasgressione e festa.

These are some of my old pictures. I took them in Genoa, London, New York and Shanghai, between the 1998 and the 2008. The pictures I took in Genoa are mostly results of several photowalks, like the prostitute in the low ground in one of the alleys called caruggi, in the old town of Genoa.
The portraits of the Japanese model were shot in London, in the 1999 and of course they are on film, like all the pictures from New York and Shanghai.
The last four photos of the second page of the gallery were shot on my old dear Agfa Scala, black and white positive film.
The first picture, the reflection of a man walking on the Nervi’s promenade (passeggiata di Nervi) , and the second (the prostitute) were published on two different magazines.
